2009 Hurrican Season Ends

November 30th marked the end of the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season.  It was a below-average year, with only three hurricanes, none of which threatened our friends in Haiti.  For that we are thankful.

As reporter Suzanne Goldenberg noted in her article for the Guardian, hurricane season brings a singular sense of dread to the people of Haiti.  With the effects of the 2008 season still a daily struggle for many Haitians, 2009 has been a welcome relief — a chance to continue the clean-up, rebuild, and plan relief efforts and strategies for the future storms that are sure to come.
