Web Resources — International Aid

Global Ministries directs international mission work for the United Methodist Church.

The Bottom Billion Blog features the writings of Paul Collier and others. Paul Collier is the author of several books, including The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries are Failing and What Can be Done About It, which won the 2008 Lionel Gelber Prize for the best non-fiction book and the Arthur Ross Prize of the Council on Foreign Relations. His most recent book War, Guns and Votes: Democracy In Dangerous Places is now out.

Hans Rosling is a professor of International Health from Stockholm, Sweden and one of the most eloquent voices for new ways to think about poverty, development and the world.  His TED talks, in 2006 and 2007, are informative and inspirational and his work on Gapmider, software for the application and analysis of statistical data, is revolutionary.
